BOBCAT / MOUNTAIN LION / PUMA - Sightings
NOT Confirmed (by the MDNR)

Two different people have told me that they saw a what was either a “Puma or Mountain Lion” near “Houseman’s Grocery Store”.  One person was an employee going to work at 4:00 am.  She reported seeing it walking across the parking lot slowly in the dark.  The other person reported seeing one across the street from “Houseman’s” on the East side of “37”.

Another Women told me that she and her husband were keeping an eye on a friends place on the Pier Marquette River .  When they went to check on the place, he looked at the river and saw the BOBCAT lazily laying on a tree branch which hung over the river.  He went back to get his wife so she could see it also, but neither one had a camera on them.

The week of July 15th we were driving on Star Lake Road east of  "Mels".  We saw a large feline cross in front of our car.  I would guess it was about 30-40-pounds.  It was brownish gray.  I am a city boy accountant and have no idea what it was but was very impressed by its graceful movement and size.
