- Sightings Two different people have told me that they saw a what was either a “Puma or Mountain Lion” near “Houseman’s Grocery Store”. One person was an employee going to work at 4:00 am. She reported seeing it walking across the parking lot slowly in the dark. The other person reported seeing one across the street from “Houseman’s” on the East side of “37”.

The
week of July 15th we were driving on Star Lake Road east of "Mels".
We saw a large feline cross in front of our car.
I would guess it was about 30-40-pounds.
It was brownish gray. I
am a city boy accountant and have no idea what it was but was very
impressed by its graceful movement and size. Donald

Harold saw a bobcat on August 27 around mid-afternoon on Canterbury Rd. The bobcat crossed the road right in front of his car - then reached the woods and turned and looked back at Harold - guess they both got a good look at each other. Harold also saw a bobcat (or maybe the same one) a week or so before that on Park Pam

A neighbor of ours saw a cougar on Canterbury Road this past Summer on a Saturday evening. He watched him for several minutes just sitting along side of the road washing his paws, etc. He was positive it was a cougar because he immediately checked online for identification after returning to his cottage to make sure he had not mistaken it for a bobcat.
